North Cyprus Law | Seeking Justice in the TRNC

North Cyprus Law | Seeking Justice in the TRNCMany people living in the TRNC think that the TRNC judicial system isn’t of a good standard.

Yes I agree that things can go wrong at times, and that we have a long way to go, but I can’t say that if you fight for your rights in the right way you wouldn’t be able to obtain them. It may take time in some cases for justice to be served, but there is Justice if you know what you are doing and if you’re doing it with professional and honest people.

These professional people are called Advocates in the TRNC, which is the equivalent to both Barristers-at-law and Solicitor’s in the UK, and their main duty is to protect the rights and interests of their clients while helping the Court’s to serve Justice. The Laws in the TRNC do not force you to have an Advocate representing you in your case but I do suggest that you do use the advice and/or representation of an honest Advocate before and after you deal with any type of legal issue.

At this point I must add that when choosing an Advocate make sure s/he is an honest one and there’s no ‘’conflict of interest’’ in your situation or case. The TRNC is a State of Law and even Advocates are obliged to obey the Law. Which inter alia means that legal proceedings can be taken against them for any unlawful conduct towards the clients. I shall be giving examples on what these can be in the future…
