Popular Science News | Baptist’s Bones Buried in Bulgaria

Popular Science News – as astounding as it seems, bones found buried in Bulgaria could well be those of St John the Baptist, the man who baptised Christ. DNA tests on the revealed that the tooth and piece of skull, found in July 2010 in a marble sarcophagus in the ruins of a medieval church on the island of Sveti Ivan, or Saint John, off Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast near the resort of Sozopol, were from the right time period.

However, skeptics have always dismissed these items as a scam, and some joke that if all the bones said to belonged to John the Baptist were authentic then he would have had 12 hands and six heads.
