Tourism dips as Brits stay away – because of lack of advertising. The holiday industry is blaming the 50% slump in British holidaymakers on the government not giving enough money and the little they did give came too late. The €1m budget had been slashed to €150k. Editor: perhaps private businesses should pay for their own advertising instead of blaming necessary government budget cuts!

TRNC gay rights to be examined by ECHR – the Human Dignity Trust is taking Turkey to the ECHR because they are doing little to prevent the arrest of homosexuals.

Gürcafer: I was sold stolen land in North – apparently, the Head of the Construction Contractors’ Union bought a hotel without knowing the title deed was issued by the TRNC and that it was therefore likely to be Greek Cypriot land. The hotel had been repossessed because of unpaid debts. Unless he is given back the hotel Gürcafer intends to take his case to the south on the basis that he was sold Greek Cypriot land. Editor: not of course because he bought Greek Cypriot property, that would be illegal down there.

Internet television provider expands – Multimax is expanding its services and is now offering more TV channels through its NTV SetTopBox. It now delivers 58 channels and expects to have 100 by the end of the year. The company is currently delivering many of the Sky Channels.
